Meet The Team


Samantha is an experienced accountant and bookkeeper. She started SMA as a small side business to supplement her household’s income while her baby slept – but she quickly discovered an underserved niche in helping service-based small business owners. Her work has included stints at a regional tax firm, a regional real estate brokerage, and as a bookkeeper or accountant for several small businesses throughout the state of Utah. Her current clientele includes companies throughout the western United States in various industries. She has real-world expertise in bookkeeping, tax accounting, payroll preparation, leadership, and financial analysis. Her passion for her work and her attention to detail are unmatched in the profession. She enjoys learning about nutrition, cooking tasty vegan meals, and spending time with her family.

Staff Accountant

Marina is an experienced bookkeeper with over 10 years of accounting experience, including extensive experience working with a diverse range of small businesses over the past 6 years. She is a native of Ukraine. She graduated from Prydniprovs’ka State Academy with a Master’s degree in Finance and Accounting. Marina is fluent in English, Russian, and Ukrainian.

Marina has earned her QuickBooks Online Advanced Certification, the Xero Advisor Certification program, and QuickBooks Desktop Advanced Certification 2019. Through her work experience and education, she has gained a sound understanding of accounting standards/practices. She has worked with many accounting software programs, including QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Xero, NetSuite, and Wave Accounting.

When not working, Marina has a passion for cooking, and enjoys spending time with her son and husband in the beautiful park near their house. She enjoys being part of a successful and productive team, and thrives in challenging working environments.

Project Manager

Trevor is SMA’s Project Manager, which is a nicer way of saying he is our “Jack of All Trades.” He has a Master’s in Business Administration from WGU, with coursework completed in leadership and management, human resources, marketing, accounting, finance, and others. He also has his Quickbooks Online ProAdvisor Certification. 

A structural engineer by trade, he has his MS and BS degrees in Civil Engineering from BYU, and is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in five states. When he is not working, Trevor enjoys taking walks with the family, advocating for renewable energy, playing board games, reading, and being an Excel ninja.


Beth is an experienced accountant and has an accounting degree from WGU and her MBA from Kent State University. She has 29 years of higher education experience, including as an accounting instructor, as well as student services, data analysis, and assessment planning. She has her Quickbooks Online certification. Camping, hiking, birding and spending time outdoors are her favorite ways to spend her spare time. Her family consists of two boys, Robert and David, and her canine companion Chester.

Scott has been working in accounting and auditing for the last 10 years, with experience across several different industries – including automotive, retail, manufacturing, real estate and construction. He started his career with KPMG and has spent the last several years as an Internal Audit Manager for a large non-profit entity. He has a Bachelor’s and a Master of Accounting degree from the University of Utah. In addition, he is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, and Certified Fraud Examiner. He is fluent in both Spanish and English. 

Scott is a big college football fan and loves to get out to as many games as possible each year. During the off season, he loves to spend time with family and travel, having visited 18 countries so far.

Charlotte began her career as an office manager using Quickbooks Desktop and other industry-specific softwares. Realizing the importance of accounting, at age 40, she decided to go back to school and get her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, which she received from the University of Phonix in 2011. Later, at age 46, she went back and got her Master’s in Accounting from West Texas A&M University!  She is currently studying for the CPA exam.  In addition to her work with Sage Mountain, Charlotte works as a controller for a trucking company in Amarillo, TX. She also has extensive experience in the feedlot and farming industries. Together with her husband, she has 5 kids, 8 grandkids, and 2 dogs.

Administrative Assistant

Nancy graduated from Brigham Young University – Hawaii with a bachelor’s degree, double-majoring in Business in and Hospitality Management, cum laude, in 3 years. She has worked a variety of roles, including as an apartment manager – where she helped increase occupancy by 20% – as an assistant store manager at a wireless company, and as a real estate analyst. She loves being part of a dynamic team and helping things to run smoothly. She enjoys puzzles, problem solving, and learning new ways to be efficient. In her free time, Nancy loves being outdoors and finding adventure.
